Objectives

• Indicate the conditions under which content can be mined for text and data analysis
• Encourage ethical and responsible use of data

Implementation

• Use meta property tdm:reservation and meta property tdm:policy
• If you use EPUB format, you can include TDM metadata in content.opf or specific XML files
• For PDF files, you can use XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) metadata to include information about TDM permissions.

Control

• Check the presence of tdm:reservation and tdm:policy metadata in the OPF file (for the EPUB) or XMP metadata (for the PDF).
• Check the co-existence of these metrics with mentions written on the copyright page or the corresponding mentions.
