• Help users identify external links.
• Warn users when they are about to leave the current page or the reading application.

Implementation

• Where applicable, indicate external links by adding ’external link’ to the link text and/or using a CSS icon.

Control

• On every page containing hyperlinks, ensure that internal and external links are distinguished through a text label or an icon.
